born into brothels

i just watched the most inspiring beautiful film involving 'kids with cameras.' it really has touched me.

my city

photography is about how you view the world. i took a day to go out and practice my work. to practice my eye and begin to understand how i view things. i think of myself as being aware to culture and urban/city life and the dangers. but it is different when you are in the thick of it. at points i was scared. i ended up in bad areas. next to crack dealers and crack heads. i ended up meeting Janice. She is a crack head. I bought her pizza and cigarettes. I tried to treat her more like a regular person, it was hard cuz at a couple points i wanted to get out of there cuz i was scared of where i was. i took a couple shots of her and left. wish i wasn't as scared so i couldve stayed around more. it was a good step for me though. the city is grimy and beautiful at the same point. it comes full circle.
